Lola turned six months on February 7. Half a year old! I'm a little late with the post, but we were a little busy with a vacation last week (separate post to follow).
We had her six-month pediatrician appointment on February 3. Her stats were:
- Weight = 17 lbs 5 oz (74.0%)
- Height = 26.75 in (86.1%)
- Head = 16.75 in (70.0%)
The doctor said that Lola looks great! She told us we can start giving her water and feeding her solids. Lola did very well with the shots - a little crying, but she quickly calmed down while nursing.
I actually ended up taking Lola to the doctor's again this Monday. She had been pulling at her ears a lot and showed some other symptoms of an ear infection (painful night wakings, not eating as much, cranky). So to be safe, I wanted the doctor to check her out. Luckily her ears were fine, although she did develop a pink/swollen eye on Monday, so we got drops for that. We also learned that she now weighs 18 pounds! Who knows what has caused her change in behavior - it could be teething, a growth spurt, or just an inconsistent baby.
