According to my calculations, today I am 5 weeks pregnant! Per the recommendation of my friend Amy, I bought a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It was a very helpful book and I learned a lot. Based on what I learned, I'm pretty sure I have an accurate due date. After I found out I was pregnant and went online to determine my due date, I learned that pregnancy is really only 38 weeks from the date of conception, but standard practice is to go 2 weeks back from that date and call it 40 weeks. I had no idea!
It is still very early, so Joseph and I are cautiously excited. But I've ordered a few pregnancy books to start reading up on the many, many things I need to learn over the next 9 months.
