Glenwood Floor Project

The rental house we bought in East Atlanta was in pretty good shape, so luckily we didn't have to do much to get it ready for renting.  But there was one thing I wanted to spruce up - the laundry area in the basement.  The previous owners had built a floor out of plywood and left it uncovered.  I wanted to cover it with something, to make it both more durable and more aesthetically pleasing.

After considering sheet vinyl and vinyl tile, I decided to go with tile.  I wanted to do this on my own (Joseph was busy with cleaning up the yard), and I thought peel-and-stick tile sounded pretty easy.  I bought several boxes of the mid-grade tile at Home Depot, along with some primer.  After priming the floor, I started laying down the tiles.  At first it was so easy!  I started from the center of the room and worked my way out.  But then when I had fit as many full tiles as I could, I got to the complicated part of cutting tiles to fit to the wall.  That was a huge pain.  But I got it done, and the whole project only took me about 8 hours (spread over a few days).  I'm very pleased with how it turned out!  And I feel very handy now :)
