Weekend Update - November 2

Last weekend (actually two weekends ago), was Halloween, Georgia Tech Homecoming, and Parks' first birthday party.  So we had a lot going on!

Friday was Halloween.  Lola dressed up for school, and they took the kids on a parade around the neighborhood.  While she was at school that day, Lola fell on the cement stairs outside, leading up to the front door of the house.  There are only a few stairs, so she didn't fall far, but she did hit her eye pretty hard.  Her teacher texted me to let me know, and she said Lola cried for a minute and then seemed fine.  She iced it and said Lola seemed ready for her nap, so I let her stay at school the rest of the day.  But she does have quite the shiner (still there over a week later).

After school, we had a quick dinner at home, and then we walked up and down our street.  We probably went to 10 houses or so, just neighbors we know, and mainly to show off Lola in her cute costume (we didn't take much candy, and what we did was for us!).  She seemed to enjoy walking around and saying hi to everyone.  But she definitely started to crash around 7, so we headed home for bed.

Saturday was Georgia Tech Homecoming.  The game was at 3:30pm, so we went to campus to tailgate for a little bit beforehand.  It was FREEZING, so not too many people were at our usual tailgate.  We hung out for a little bit, and then we went to see the Mlynarskis at their tailgate.  Lola and Mackenzie got to play for a while before we went to the game.  Unfortunately it didn't feel much warmer inside the stadium and Lola got pretty antsy, so we left around halftime and grabbed pizza for dinner.  We caught the end of the game at home, and GT pulled out a win!

Sunday was Parks' first birthday party.  There were lots of people there and tons of kids for Lola to play with.  Unfortunately I forgot to take photos, but it was lots of fun and Parks seemed to enjoy his cupcake.
