Hall Bathroom Renovation

Our hall bathroom was, let's say, "interesting".  It had some features I liked, such as the built-in medicine cabinet and original clawfoot tub, and some I hated, like the glass block shower wall.  Most importantly though, it was falling apart.  Tile was coming off both the floor and the walls, and the toilet felt shaky whenever you sat on it.  So we basically only used the bathroom to bathe Lucy (clawfoot tubs are perfect for washing dogs!).

We finally decided to start renovating last month.  We interviewed several contractors and decided on one that had worked on our neighbor's house.  He was very easy to communicate with and put up with my crazy attention to detail.  After much discussion with him, we decided to gut the bathroom and rebuild.  There were just too many problems to try to patch.  We rearranged the layout, getting rid of the shower and making a tub/shower combination, which made the room much more spacious.  Maybe a little too spacious actually - I plan to get a shelving unit or cabinet for the empty wall.

We absolutely love the finished product and now we use it all the time!

Before - Crazy shower, cramped room
Before - Great tub, but painted blue and on a weird platform
Before - Inside the shower, even more bright blue tile!
Before - Looking out from the shower
After - Much better!
After - Refinished tub, new toilet, & new vanity
After - New floor, which I LOVE
After - New vanity
After - View from the tub
