Another friend had her baby this week! Kelsey and Aaron welcomed baby Lena Drew on Wednesday. I haven't met her yet, but I saw a photo, and she is beautiful and perfect. And she has a full head of hair! I'm so happy for them and can't wait to meet Lena.
As mentioned in my previous posts, I had a baby shower last weekend and visits from my mom and Joseph's parents, so that helped us get a lot accomplished. We have pretty much all of our "necessities" now, and our moms helped with some nursery decisions. We hope to finish up the nursery this weekend by buying a side table and lamp for next to the glider, and by hanging up a few things (some prints and a shelf to hold her name letters).
Last week I had another appointment with the midwives (at 31 weeks 2 days). The midwife I saw, Linda, said that everything looks good. The baby is still head down, her heart rate is good, and I'm measuring on schedule. Plus, I haven't gained any weight since my 28-week appointment, which I think is a good thing since I was gaining weight rapidly for a few weeks there.
I went back to the chiropractor again this morning, and I think it's helping, but it's really hard to tell. I'm only there for about 10 minutes, so I don't really understand what he's doing! But I do feel good afterwards. Unfortunately, sitting at a desk all day usually makes my back start hurting again. I may take my exercise ball to work and start sitting on it.
Tomorrow we have our breastfeeding class, and Sunday is our last childbirth class (both taught by our doula's group, Labor of Love). While Joseph may be dreading a weekend full of classes, I'm looking forward to it. We've been to two out of three of the childbirth sessions so far, and they've been informative and enjoyable. The same couples that are in our childbirth class will be at the breastfeeding class tomorrow, so it will be nice to know everyone.
