Lola is three months old today! I'm going to drop the weekly update (she was 13 weeks yesterday) and switch to monthly. But I will still update with posts when we do fun activities.
I've been back at work for over a week now, and we're still adjusting. We've gotten a little more efficient in our evening routine, which has allowed me to get to bed earlier and get some much needed sleep. It's helped to make some crockpot meals so that I don't have to cook when I get home.
Last week the nanny was at our house, and this week she is at the Olsons' house, so we had to do drop-off and pick-up. It wasn't too bad, and it's nice for Lola to have a change of scenery. The nanny, LaKeisha, said that Lola has been doing great. She's eating really well, but she's still not much of a napper. Although today she took a two-hour nap, which is highly unusual!
One of the unexpected things I hate about being back at work is pumping. It is SUCH a pain to pump at work. It is SO much easier to just breastfeed. Plus it's more enjoyable. I have to pump three times a day at work to produce enough milk for Lola to eat the next day, and each time takes about 20-25 minutes with all the setup before and packing up after. And of course there is all the cleaning involved - I have to wash the pump parts and bottles every night.
We don't know how much Lola weighs, but she feels a lot heaver and is getting too tall for a lot of her clothes. She is definitely growing! She's still only rolling over from her tummy to her back, and not frequently since she doesn't like to be on her tummy. Hopefully soon she'll figure out how to roll from her back to her tummy (although maybe I don't want her to become mobile just yet).
Lola is cooing and chatting a ton, and we love it. She's started giggling a little bit too, which is just the cutest thing ever. I hope to be able to capture it on video sometime.
Last weekend was Georgia Tech's homecoming (against Pittsburgh), and the game was at 7pm. I wasn't sure how Lola would do, but she was great. We got to the tailgate around 4 and she made it past halftime of the game, with us leaving around 9. It was fun to take her and introduce her to everyone! Unfortunately I forgot to take many photos.
