Fun-Filled Weekend

This past weekend we had lots of family fun!  We didn't have any major plans, projects, or errands, so we got to spend a lot of time together.  It was really nice and a welcome change for our usually busy weekends.

We started the weekend with our second swim class Saturday morning.  Lola woke up earlier than normal, which actually worked out well since we squeezed in a nap and feeding before class.  She seemed to enjoy class more since she wasn't sleepy.  She definitely loves the water!  Special thanks to Anna for lending Lola a super cute bathing suit.  After class we decided to risk skipping a nap and grab lunch, so we went to Fellini's.  Lola did great and enjoyed sitting outside.  But she was definitely ready for a nice, long nap when we got home.

When she woke up, we walked down the block to a play date with our Grant Park Parents Network play group.  The GPPN sets up play groups for each set of children in a six-month age range, which is a great way to meet other parents and babies.  There were six babies at the play date, plus moms and dads.  I think Lola pulled every other baby's hair, causing most of them to cry.  I'm guessing since she doesn't have much hair of her own, she doesn't realize it hurts.  Hopefully she will stop being the bully soon.  Unfortunately I forgot to take photos - there were lots of cute babies, and it was cute to see them all together.

We went home for a quick break and to feed Lola dinner, and then it was off to another neighbor's house.  Jenny, our neighbor down the street, has an annual Easter egg decorating party, and this year was our first invite.  We had never officially met Jenny (although I'm sure Joseph chatted with her while passing by when walking Lucy), but our other neighbors Kerby and Will passed along our contact info.  We were happy to be invited and meet some new neighbors!  It's awful that we've lived in our house for 3.5 years and still haven't met everyone on the street.  There were also a lot of familiar faces at the party, and we had fun catching up with people and showing Lola off.

After putting Lola down for bed, our neighbors Bekah and Glenn (they live across the street) stopped by.  They have a six-week-old daughter, Charleigh, and they wanted to see if we were up for hanging out.  So we had some drinks on the porch and chatted for a few hours before heading to bed.  It was a relaxing end to the day, and it was nice to get to know them a little better.  Hopefully Charleigh and Lola will be great friends while growing up (as long as they don't move to the suburbs, which they mentioned they're considering).

Sunday morning we were a little tired from all the fun the day before (and the late night), but we all got up and headed to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens around 10.  I really wanted to go see all of the tulips while they were still in bloom.  They were so pretty, and there were so many of them!  Lola didn't seem too interested, but since we're members we hope to go frequently and cultivate Lola's love of plants so she can be like her father.

The rest of Sunday was the usual - yard work, grocery shopping, house work, etc.  We cleaned up the back patio, so we're all ready to grill out and dine al fresco.  Once the weather finally settles down, of course.
