Lola - 8 Months

Lola is eight months old!  Time continues to fly.

Since I just posted the seven-month update last week, there isn't too much to add.  Lola is getting closer to crawling - she's reaching forward for toys and ending up on all fours.  She's also trying to pull up on things, and she can stand really well while holding onto something.

The sleep is getting better (see my previous post)!  Last night she slept 11 hours, with two wakings where she went back to sleep on her own within 5 minutes.  And tonight she went to sleep on her own within 10 minutes of me putting her in her crib.  It may seem like a small victory, but it's amazing how drastically getting enough sleep can change your day.

My parents came through town last Monday through Thursday.  They spent February and March in Florida and were heading back to Pittsburgh.  My parents watched Lola Tuesday and Wednesday, and they cooked us dinner both nights.  It was wonderful to have them here!  I know Lola loved spending time with them.

We took Lola to her first "swim" class on Saturday.  It's technically a fitness class for moms, but dads can attend too, and the class introduces the babies to water.  We had lots of fun, and I think Lola did too, even though she missed a nap for it.  She quickly passed out on the way home.

After swim class, we came home for a bit and then headed up to the Mlynarskis' house for a play date and dinner.  We hadn't seen them in so long - Mackenzie has grown so much!  She's only three weeks younger than Lola, so it's great to have good friends with a baby so close in age.  Jessica cooked us a fabulous dinner, and the girls got to play for a bit before we headed home for bedtime.
