Lola - 14 Months

I didn't write a 13-month post, so my streak has ended.  But here's an update on all things Lola, plus lots of photos.

Eating
Lola is officially weaned from breastfeeding.  I nursed her for the last time at bedtime on September 23, when she was 13.5 months old.  The transition went really well; Lola fussed for about 10 minutes before going to sleep the first 2 or 3 nights, but since then she's gone straight to sleep without a problem.  We give her a sippy cup of milk to drink as we get ready for bed and read books, but she doesn't drink too much of it - maybe an ounce or two.  I think she eats so much at dinner that she's good for the night.  Lola is still pretty good about food.  She'll usually eat whatever you put in front of her, although she can be picky and inconsistent.  Her favorite foods right now are avocado, raspberries, pancakes, and cheese.  She really liked meat for a while, but lately hasn't wanted to eat it.

Teeth
Lola has 10 teeth now!  4 on the top front, 4 on the bottom front, and both bottom molars.  She may have the top molars too, but I can't get a good look.  I just saw the bottom molars the other day when she was laughing with her mouth opened really wide.  We've started brushing her teeth twice a day, which she seems okay with.  Our pediatrician said we should take her to a dentist now, but I had asked my dentist the last time I went, and she said we can wait until she's three years old.  So we're still deciding what to do about that.

Sleeping
Lola had been pretty consistent at sleeping 11 hours each night, from about 7:30 until 6:30.  When we went out last weekend and left her with LaKeisha (our former nanny), LK said she put her to bed at 6:50.  I was very surprised she went down so early, but she slept as late as normal, so I decided to move up her bedtime to 7.  Since then, she'll sleep from 7pm to between 6:30 and 7am.  I guess she needed more sleep!  She's not a huge napper (she'll nap for about an hour or so, maybe an hour and half), so she probably does need to sleep more at night.  It's hard to get her to bed that early, since we're usually pretty busy after work with picking her up and making/eating dinner, but we'll try to stick to the earlier bedtime when we can.

Walking
Lola is finally walking!  I can't pinpoint the exact date it happened.  She had taken a few tiny steps here and there for a month or so, but now she's full-on walking and rarely crawls.  I took a video of her walking on September 20, so we'll just say that's when she started.  She's still a little wobbly at times, but she's getting faster and better at it each day.

Health
Lola has generally had good health since she's been born.  She had a small cold once or twice, and a fever once, but nothing major.  Last week the daycare called me to tell me they thought she had hand foot mouth disease.  I took her to the doctor and she confirmed it, but she said there's no treatment and it would just go away on its own.  Lola just had red bumps all over her body, the worst of which were in her diaper area.  She also had a sore throat and coughed a lot.  She seems much better today, so I think it's mostly gone.
