Cabin Fever 2015

We missed our annual mountain trip last year because we didn't want to leave Lola when she was not quite six months old, but this year we were ready to rejoin our friends.  And it was such a fun trip!

Joseph's sister Julie kept Lola while we were away, so we dropped Lola off at their house in Cumming Friday afternoon and then headed to Blue Ridge, Georgia.  I had rented new cabins this year, so I was pleased when they turned out to be amazing.  They were luxury cabins with beautiful views, and there was plenty of space for our crowd (we had two four-bedroom cabins next door to each other).  We had a group of 14 people and 4 dogs.

We did what we usually do during our cabin fever weekend - eat, play games, drink, relax.  I had intended to go to bed early each night to catch up on some sleep, but I was having so much fun playing games and hanging out with my friends that I stayed up until 1 or 2 am each night (it didn't help that Saturday night was the "spring forward" time change).  We played some standards, like Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, and Cards Against Humanity, and the Edwardses introduced us to Euchre, which I really enjoyed.  We did manage to get outside for a short walk on Saturday, and I also had a nice late-night hot tub dip with Sarah and Kat.

We picked Lola up around lunchtime on Sunday, and she had a ton of fun with her cousins!  I'm so glad she did well on her first nights away from both Joseph and me.
