Sanibel Island (Part 2)

After Joseph left on Monday, Lola and I hung around until Thursday.  Tuesday morning it was really foggy and pretty chilly, so we decided to go shopping.  We went to a little shopping plaza that had a really cute children's store.  Mom had bought Lola an outfit there that I wasn't a huge fan of, so we returned it and got something a little more my style.  My mom bought a dress at another store, and then we just wandered around.  There was a small playground there, so we let Lola play for a bit.
After shopping we went to lunch at a Mexican restaurant.  Lola loved the cheese dip, of course.  Then we headed home and Lola took a nap while I worked some.  In the afternoon, we all biked up to the local playground (the repairs had been finished).  Lola had fun running around.

On Wednesday the weather was back to sunny and warm, which was great because we had plans to go to Lighthouse Beach.  It's a popular beach on the end of the island.  Some of my mom's friends were coming over for the day - one of them lives in Fort Myers, and the others were in town visiting.  My dad dropped us off at the beach, and we hung out for an hour or two.  Lola enjoyed getting buckets of water and dumping them in the sand.  She also loved the snacks that Judy brought - I think she ate more than anyone else!  We spent the rest of the day at home, other than a short bike ride to the rental place to return it.

Our flight home on Thursday was around 1, so we headed to Fort Myers in the morning and grabbed an early lunch by the airport.  I had hoped Lola would nap on the plan since it was her naptime, but of course that didn't happen.  Luckily she was pretty good - ate a lot of snacks, read some books, talked to the lady next to us.  Joseph picked us up at the airport, and Lola fell asleep immediately on the (short 10-minute) ride home.

We had a fabulous trip - it was relaxing and fun, and it was great to spend some quality time with my parents.  And of course it was great to have a week off with my girl.  We are looking forward to visiting again next year!

Trying to get into the church down the street
She climbed these steps over and over and over
I had to carry her home screaming because she wouldn't leave
Playground at the shopping plaza
Sliding
She loves stepping stones
Walking down the sidewalk
Shopping with Grandma
Yummy Mexican lunch
Trying to put my bathing suit on her head
Not working
Trying to put my lens cap on while I'm trying to take her photo

Swinging with Grandpa
Climbing through the tunnel

Climbing up the stairs
So happy
Ready for the slide...
There she goes!
On the rocking horse
But then back to the slide

Another beach walk
So pretty
Playing in the sand
Going to fill her bucket
So sunny, but she wouldn't wear her hat or sunglasses

Relaxing in her beach chair

"Give me that camera."
"No, really, you will never be able to take my picture."
