The last two weekends were not super exciting, although they were productive and we had some fun family time.
The weekend of September 12, we introduced Lola to her new "big girl bed" (a full size bed on the floor) on Friday. She seemed interested, but she did not want to sleep in it. She asked to go to the crib. She repeated this behavior on Saturday and Sunday nights as well. We figure we'll keep reading to her in it and let her get comfortable, and hopefully she will want to sleep in it soon.
There was a work day at Lola's school on Saturday morning. Joseph went to help out, while Lola and I ran some errands. After lunch and nap, we all headed to the Scott Antique Market. We wanted to look for furniture for Lola's new room, as well as something to serve as a pantry in our kitchen. The place is huge, so we didn't have time to look at everything. We did see one set of bedroom furniture we liked, so we kept that in mind and decided to come back the next day. Then we had dinner at Grant Central Pizza and went home to bed.
Sunday morning I did our weekly grocery run (without Lola, in an attempt to be quick), and then we went back to the market. We explored the outdoor area, which Joseph loves - lots of old house pieces and random things. We browsed through all the sellers inside, and we finally decided to go with the bedroom set we liked on Saturday. It's painted furniture, and it came with a dresser, night stand, and mirror. I wasn't picturing painted furniture, but I do really like it, and I think it will work well in a little girl's room.
The weekend of September 19, I started Saturday by going to a prenatal yoga class. It felt great! I went to a ton of classes when I was pregnant with Lola, but I just don't have the time to do it with this pregnancy. I need to make time for it, as I think it will make me feel better and also help with labor and delivery.
Saturday afternoon we went to a party at the Woodalls' new house in Brookhaven. They (Courtney and Jack) used to live next door to our friends Wally and Jessica, so we met through them. They were having a housewarming/football watching party. Joseph headed up around 1, and Lola and I went up around 4, after nap. Their new house is beautiful! I definitely had house envy. Lola had fun running around with Kay, their 2.5 year old, and Mackenzie. I left the party early to meet Heather at the Rhea Lana consignment sale. I got a ton of good stuff for Lola, and a few things for baby boy (he's mostly covered already with clothes we've received from friends). Then we had a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant nearby, Bambinelli's.
Lola actually slept ALL NIGHT in her bed on Saturday. I got home around 9 from dinner, and Joseph was still upstairs with Lola. I heard her chatting in the bed, so I let them be. I went back up around 9:45, and they were both asleep. I woke Joseph up and made him come downstairs to our room. I was anxious all night about Lola waking up and hurting herself - I don't know why, I would just wake up and my heart would start racing as I thought about her. But she was fine and didn't make a peep until 7:30, when she happily got out of bed and walked to the gate at the top of the stairs.
Sunday was just a lot of errands and house chores, with some football watching thrown in. But I'm happy that I finally got all of Lola's clothes moved to her new room, and baby boy's clothes washed and organized. The newborn and 3-month clothes are in his drawers, and the older clothes are packed away in boxes, organized by size.
