I now go weekly to see the midwives, and I had an appointment today with Lindley. She said the baby is still head down (yay!), and she also confirmed that he is really, really low, which explains my high level of discomfort. My group B strep test came back negative, so I don't have to get antibiotics during labor. I am super excited about that!
This weekend I pre-registered for the hospital on Atlanta Medical Center's website, and I also took the online water birth course. So I'm all set to check in.
My parents arrive on December 22, but I wanted to line up care for Lola in case I go into labor early. Joseph's sister Julie generously volunteered to keep Lola while we're in the hospital. She lives in Cumming and has a very busy schedule with her three daughters, though, so I wanted someone to watch Lola short term until Julie can get down here to pick her up. Luckily I have some wonderful neighborhood friends, and they've all said they can watch Lola. I'm glad we've got the logistics all figured out. Although of course I hope he decides to wait until my parents arrive - I'm not quite ready for him to come yet!
This week I plan to pack our bags, and I think that's the last "must do". We've still got a lot of little things on the list, but they can all be done after he's born, if need be. I'm trying to not stress and just relax as much as I can. Work is my most stressful thing right now. I'd like December 18 to be my last day, but I have a ton of work to do before then - mainly stuff that's just easier if I do it myself rather than try to pass it on to my partners to do while I'm out. I'm making good progress this week, so hopefully I can keep it up and get it all done.
