Last weekend was fun and productive:
- We decided to hire a doula and picked the one that we liked from the meet-and-greet. Unfortunately she will be on vacation until August 10, and I'm due August 12. But another doula will be on-call for us in case I go into labor early. Usually first-time moms are late, so hopefully she will be back in town in time.
- I ordered a copy of Hypnobabies, which is a home-study course on using hypnosis during childbirth. I've heard great things about it, so I'm going to give it a shot and hopefully it will help me relax during childbirth and focus on something other than the pain.
- I ordered several fabric samples for the crib skirt. I want to decide on it first and have it drive our color scheme for the nursery.
- Saturday morning I went to water aerobics with Stephanie. It felt great to exercise!
- We visited Jessica and Wally at their new house in Marietta on Saturday night. It is gorgeous! We're so happy for them and glad they were able to find a wonderful home before their baby comes. Jessica is due about 2 weeks after me and is also having a girl! After the house tour, we went to Roswell for dinner and had a lovely date night.
- We met with our friends Stephanie and Erik on Sunday and discussed our plans for a nanny share. Daycare is really hard to find in our area (wait lists everywhere), so we decided to do a nanny share. The nanny will alternate between our houses, so it will be great to have in-home care. Stephanie is due about 6 weeks before me and is also having a girl. We hope they will become great friends!
