36 Weeks

I was 36 weeks last Monday.  Late with the weekly update, as usual.

I'm still feeling pretty well, although exhaustion is starting to set in.  I really want to "nest" and do things like organize closets, but I just don't have the energy.  So for now I'm focusing on the last few "must do" items before the baby comes, like installing the car seat and packing my bag for the hospital.  My ankles have started to get really swollen, so I've been trying to put my feet up as much as possible.  I have a foot stool at work, which is helping some.  But mainly I just have to tell myself that I can't do everything I used to be able to do!

Last weekend we met with our doula, Renee.  Her backup, Carrie, also came because Renee will be on vacation until two days before my due date.  So if I go into labor early, Carrie will be our doula.  It was great to meet her - she was very nice and I'm sure she'll be a great doula if we end up using her.  Both of the women were very reassuring, and we reviewed our birth and baby plans together.

After the meeting, we picked up lunch and headed over to the Pirrottas' house to meet baby Lena Drew!  My friend Kelsey gave birth to Lena on June 19.  Even though she was almost four weeks old, she was still very tiny!  She has a full head of hair and is absolutely adorable.  I think she looks like Kelsey.  She was a perfect baby and didn't make a peep during our visit.  Kelsey and Aaron seem to be very happy and adjusting to parenthood well.

Another friend, Stephanie, gave birth last Monday to a baby girl named Ingrid Louise.  I'm so happy for her and Erik!  I haven't met Ingrid yet, but I have plans to meet her in the next few weeks (hopefully before Baby B arrives).  Our babies will be sharing a nanny, so I'm sure they will become great friends.

All of these babies are making me excited to meet my own little one!
