Not much has changed since my last update. I'm still tired most of the time, and I'm still slightly swollen, but otherwise I'm feeling well. I went to water aerobics last night, and that helped with my aches. I need to get into a routine of doing yoga a few times a week and using my exercise ball daily.
Today I had another appointment with the midwives. It was the start of my weekly appointments - from now until the baby is born, I'll go every Tuesday (even though my due date is on a Monday, I got into the habit of Tuesday appointments since I've been working from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the hospital is so close to my house).
The first thing I always do is weigh in. I stepped on the scale, and the nurse moved the big weight to 100 and then started to move the little weight. I was like, Oh no, I've been on the 150 weight for a while now. She said she wouldn't have guessed. So that was nice to hear! I have a total weight gain of 35 pounds now, which she said was normal (even though I feel huge). I imagine I'll put on another 5 pounds or so before the baby is born.
I met a new midwife today - I think her name was Lindley, but I forgot already. She is an office midwife, not a delivering midwife. We went over my birth and baby plans, which she said looked good. Then she told me what to do when I go into labor and when to come into the hospital. Talking about logistics made it seem so close! She felt the baby and she's still head down and low, so that's good, and her heart rate was great as well. About two months ago when they tested my blood, they said my iron and vitamin D levels were low, so I've been taking supplements. They drew my blood today to re-test, so hopefully my levels are higher now.
Overall, things are going really well and Joseph and I are getting more excited each day!

Yay! Full term!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable! Let that baby cook as long as possible. They're easier to care for on the inside than they are on the outside! Plus, I'm convinced that late baby = big baby = good eater = good sleeper! Can't wait to hear the good news!
