Lola was six weeks yesterday. We've been very busy so I'm late with my post. But I just discovered I can write blog posts from my phone, so that should help in the future. And it should help keep them shorter since I'm usually pretty wordy :)
Last Wednesday Joseph had to go out of town for work, just for one night (this was the trip he was supposed to go on four days before my due date - he didn't make that one!). So Lola and I were on our own, but it wasn't too bad. She was pretty well behaved and Joseph got home Thursday afternoon.
Saturday morning I went to my hairdresser for a haircut while Joseph watched Lola. It was a nice treat! And much needed. She is actually pregnant so we talked a lot about baby stuff.
Saturday afternoon we went to Marietta to visit the Mlynarskis and meet baby Mackenzie. She was born on August 28 (our anniversary!) and is exactly three weeks younger than Lola. She is absolutely adorable and such a good baby. I didn't hear her cry once! I didn't take a photo of the girls together, but I will remember to do that next time. We had fun visiting, although hanging around talking about our babies and calling it a night at 8pm is quite different from our pre-baby get togethers.
Sunday Lola made her first trip to Costco. Very exciting! We stocked up on lots of things. And then Monday we want to the Dekalb Farmers Market, so she's quite the grocery expert. I carried her in a sling at DFM and she actually did very well and slept the whole time. She hasn't really liked it so much and I'm trying to get her used to baby wearing.
Tuesday we met Jessica, Matteson, Alix, and Nora at the Nordstrom Cafe. Lola loves ladies lunches! Then I went to the chiropractor to get adjusted. It helped a ton - I've been really tense due to all the breastfeeding and carrying Lola around.
I had my six-week postpartum visit at Intown Midwifery yesterday. I got to see Gloria, who delivered Lola, so that was nice. She said everything looks good! I can start exercising again, which I'm excited about. I'm going to try to go to a kettlebell class this weekend. I need to get my strength back so that I can lift a heavy baby, car seat, and stroller!
Sooooo cute!!
