Lola - 7 Weeks

I can't believe it's been seven weeks since Lola was born!  She is becoming more alert and aware of her surroundings, and she is more interactive with us.  My heart melts when she smiles at me.

Lola is a pretty good baby.  Usually if she's crying, she'll calm down when we hold her.  She's started to get a bit fussier this week, though, especially in the evenings.  We're working through it and doing all the soothing tricks to calm her down.

She loves to eat and does it often, but luckily she only wakes once during the night, so I get a break then.

Lola loves being outside.  We try to go out every day, either for a long walk or to lunch to meet friends.  It breaks up the monotony for me and provides a new environment for Lola.

She also loves bath time, which Daddy is in charge of.  She loves the water and calms down immediately when she hears it running.

I weighed Lola at the breastfeeding support group meeting last Thursday, and she weighed 10 pounds 10 ounces before eating (and 10 pounds 15 ounces after!).  So she is still gaining weight quickly!

Asleep on my chest after eating - a common occurrence
Enjoying her swing
With Daddy at her first Georgia Tech football game
Cozy and happy despite the rain
With Daddy at the DePetros' house
Being squirmy
Pretty in pink
I decided to capture her crying
Leg warmers!

  1. She doesn't look like a newborn anymore! Also Alix recommended Happiest Baby on the Block DVD and it was MAGIC for those fussy hours.

  2. I love seeing some of these clothes on Lola! I remember that "witching hour" around 5:00 - it's actually pretty common. But agree with Jessica and Alix. Happiest Baby on the Block was pretty good.
