Lola - 20 Months

Lola is 20 months today - getting really close to being two years old.

Health
We don't have another doctor's appointment until she is two, so I don't have an update on her stats.  But I can tell she is continuing to grow very well (as is evidenced by her huge belly).  Lola hasn't been sick recently other than a runny nose every now and then, so we're grateful for that.

Eating
Nothing new to report here.  Lola still eats a lot and will try most things.  We removed the straps from her highchair since she kept playing with the buckle, so she sits basically in a regular chair, just higher up.  She does pretty well with it, although she does try to get down on her own sometimes and has fallen once.  She eats really well with utensils - she can pick up most food with a fork, and she eats cereal with a spoon every morning.

Teeth
We're still waiting on the next batch of teeth to come through.  One of her top canines has poked through, so the rest should be coming soon.  She has shown some discomfort lately due to teething, by grabbing at her mouth and chewing on things.

Sleeping
Lola's sleep schedule got a bit messed up with daylight savings.  The first few days were understandably difficult, but even now that she's adjusted, she usually doesn't go to sleep until 8 or so.  I think it's because it's still light out.  She'll generally read or play in her crib until she's ready to go to sleep, but some nights she cries and just wants us to come hold her or let her keep playing.  It's tough because I'd like to just keep her up until 8 rather than try to force it, but she wakes up around 7 in the morning no matter what time she goes to bed, and I feel like she needs 12 hours of sleep (she's cranky if she doesn't get it).  We'll keep trying for a 7 or 7:30 bedtime and see what happens.

Talking
Lola says more words that I can count now.  She has also started saying two or three word phrases.  It is so great to have her communicate with us.  She has been able to understand what we are saying for a long time, and now she can finally respond to us.
