Weekend Update - June 20

This week was pretty rough since I was really sick.  By the end of the week I was feeling slightly better, but I didn't do much or eat much the whole week.

Saturday we headed up to the Harpers' house to celebrate Julianna's second birthday.  We were supposed to go to the pool, but unfortunately there were thunderstorms.  So we just hung out at their house and had a nice dinner.  It was a small group, with just two other families as guests.  Brenden and Melissa didn't want to throw a real party, so they just had an impromptu get together, which I thought was nice.  Luckily for Lola, they still had cupcakes and cookies.  We caught her several times climbing up on the bench to reach for a cookie off the table, before we were having dessert.  Sneaky, sneaky!  The girls played outside with chalk and took rides in the wagon.  Lola also skinned her knee pretty badly running down their sidewalk, but she's tough and didn't cry for very long.

Sunday was Father's Day, and we celebrated by going to the aquarium (fathers got in for free!).  It was Lola's first time, and I think she liked it.  She loves looking at our fish tank at home, so we thought she would enjoy it.  We spent about an hour walking around the different exhibits, and then we went to lunch at El Mexicano.

In the afternoon, we went to Nate & Diana's house to celebrate their wedding.  They have been married for several years and have a son, Wyatt, in Lola's play group, but they just got married in the Catholic church.  They had friends and family over to celebrate.  Lola enjoyed playing with all of Wyatt's toys and getting wet with the hose and in the baby pool.

We had Nate, Diana, and Wyatt over for dinner that Tuesday.  They are leaving at the end of June to move to Florida, so we wanted to have them over before they left.  The kids had fun together and enjoyed their popsicles.  We will be sad to see them go - we were just getting to know them better.  But we wish them in the best in their new life in Florida!
