Today I am 16 weeks. And I finally took my first pregnancy photo :) I felt great on Sunday, which made me think I might be over the hump of pregnancy nausea. But it must have been due to our relaxing weekend (which involved sleeping in past 7 and daily naps) because yesterday I felt awful again. I even threw up for the first time in a few weeks (sorry, TMI). I worked from home today and felt a little better. It's comforting to be able to work in my lounge clothes and eat snacks whenever I need to. On the bright side, I'm definitely feeling better than I was a few weeks ago, so that's progress.
The baby is now the size of an avocado. I, however, look like I am carrying much more than an avocado in my belly. I started showing much earlier with this pregnancy, and I feel like I am much bigger than I was at this stage with Lola. I think a lot of it is due to bloating. I constantly feel really full, even after eating just a small meal or snack. With Lola, I felt like I could eat a ton, so this is an unusual feeling.
I am still really tired most of the time, but I think I'm getting some energy back. We went for a family walk around the park Sunday morning (despite the extreme heat), and it felt good to exercise. I need to find a way to squeeze in exercise a few times a week.
We have been trying to prepare Lola for the baby. We talk to her about the "baby in my belly", and we bought a book about being a big sister. I'm not sure how much she understands, but she has done a few really sweet things. I keep telling her my tummy hurts when I don't feel well, so now she'll say "Mommy's tummy hurt" and come over and kiss it. She also likes to lift up my shirt and poke my belly button.
My next appointment is next Wednesday, and then I'll schedule the ultrasound where we'll find out the sex. I can't wait!
