Weekend Update - July 11

This weekend we did not have much going on, which was a welcome change after two weekends of traveling (to and from the beach).  We started the weekend by going to Violet's first birthday party Saturday morning.  Joseph has been sick for about 4 weeks now, so he skipped the party to get some rest (he had stayed home from work on Friday too).  But Lola and I had a blast.  It was at a park near their house in Smyrna, and it had a great playground.  We caught up with our friends, and Lola of course loved the cake.  It was pretty hot out, but we managed to stay cool in the shaded pavilion (except for when Lola ran out into the grass and I had to chase her).

The rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful.  I organized my closet on Saturday afternoon, switching out my regular clothes for maternity clothes.  We went to dinner at RuSan's Saturday night, and Lola was melting down by the end until the sushi chef sent over an orange cut up to look like a bear.  She loved it and ate of all of the orange pieces inside.  Sunday morning we went for a long walk around to the park to get some exercise (despite the heat).  Then Lola and I did our weekly grocery run while Joseph worked in the yard.  The rest of the day was spent at home doing chores, playing, and making dinner.  Lola thankfully took an almost three-hour nap, which meant that I got a good nap too.  She had also slept in until 7:45 that morning, so I got a lot of extra sleep this weekend, which helped me feel better.  So although it wasn't a very action-packed weekend, it was quite enjoyable.
