The weekend of October 18 was designated "potty training boot camp". Several friends had recommended the three-day potty training method, so we decided to give it a go. Lola's school was closed that Friday, and we took advantage of the three-day weekend to do the training.
Thus, our weekend was not particularly exciting. I'll document her training in a separate post I have planned about her milestones, but I will say it's going surprisingly well. She was definitely ready to get out of diapers.
I stayed home with Lola on Friday, and we didn't do much other than hang around the house. It was kind of refreshing to feel like I shouldn't do any chores and just focus on Lola. Saturday was another day at home, although I did leave to go grocery shopping and take a prenatal yoga class. We ordered pizza for dinner and had a quiet night in.
Sunday I went to Marietta to attend a baby shower for my friend Jessica. She is due with her second girl in early December, about 3 weeks before me. We had our first children three weeks apart too, although Lola was born first. It was fun to get out and hang out with her (without kids distracting us) for a while, and all of her neighborhood friends, who threw the shower, are very nice.
While I was at the shower, Joseph and Lola met Jessica's husband, Wally, and daughter, Mackenzie, at the zoo. They were having their annual Boo at the Zoo event, so there were a lot of special festivities going on. Lola was technically not supposed to leave the house during the three-day training, but Joseph wanted to take the risk to have some fun with her. And she did well, although she did have one accident while out. Joseph said Lola had fun but was scared of any of the characters that were dressed up. He took some cute photos, so I'll have to get those from him.
