Last weekend Joseph unfortunately had to work all weekend, as it's a really busy time at his work. He got home around 4 am Friday night (Saturday morning), worked from 9 am until 4 pm on Saturday, and again from 9 am until 6 pm on Sunday. Crazy!
So Lola and I were on our own for most of the weekend. We started Saturday off by going to my hairdresser. I was nervous about bringing her, but she kept herself occupied watching Marie cut my hair and eating snacks. Luckily Marie has an 18-month-old, so she's used to kids and was fine with me bringing Lola. After, we ran to Sherwin Williams and Target, and then had lunch at Uncle Maddio's before heading home to nap.
The Grant Park Halloween parade was at 5, and luckily Joseph made it home in time for that. Kalee, Mark, and Ryn came to our house and we walked over to the park together, where we met up with some other playgroup families. The parade is really just the kids in costume walking a short distance around the park. The Maynard Jackson High School band led the parade, and the mounted police also participated. We unexpectedly ran into a bunch of Lola's classmates, which was fun. After the (very short) parade, we all sat down in the meadow for a picnic. Hot dogs and snacks were provided, and there was live music. It was a nice, relaxing evening.
Sunday morning we didn't do much - made our weekly grocery run and just hung around the house and tried to take care of some things. I put Lola's new bookshelf together while she napped (in the crib, because I wanted to make sure she actually got a good nap, and we're still struggling with bed naps). After nap, we went to Marietta for Mark's 2nd birthday party. I got to see a lot of my friends, which was great, and Lola enjoyed running around with their children. We had a yummy pizza dinner and fabulous Minion cupcakes made by Kat, Mark's mom. Then we headed home and went to bed.
