Memorial Day Weekend

It had been far too long since we visited the Breuers in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, so we decided to drive up and spend Memorial Day weekend with them.  They were very happy to see us and, more importantly, their granddog Lucy!

We did a lot of relaxing around their house, and Joe and Diane taught us how to play bridge.  We're still learning all the intricacies of bidding, but I love it (Joseph's still not so sure).

On Sunday afternoon we went to Roan Mountain State Park, at the border of North Carolina and Tennessee, and we did a short hike.  The views were amazing and the weather was perfect.  The trail we took is part of the Appalachian Trail, and we were passed by a hiker going all the way to Maine!

It was a wonderful weekend and we hope it won't be as long between visits from now on.

Joseph did not want his photo taken :)
