Lola is one an a half - I can't believe it! I say it every time, but time really is flying by. She amazes me every day with what she learns.
Health
Here are her stats from her 18-month doctor's appointment, which we had this morning:
- Weight = 26 lbs 13 oz (91.43%)
- Height = 32.95 in (84.38%)
- Head = 18.58 in (75.43%)
The doctor said they may have mis-measured her height the last few times, since it fell to the 50-60th percentile, and now it's back up in the 80th.
Lola had a case of pink eye in January, and when I took her to the doctor, she got diagnosed with an ear infection (her first) as well. We had to give her oral antibiotics and eye drops. Giving eye drops to a toddler is quite possibly the worst thing ever. I think only about 10% of the drops actually made it in her eyes. But they cleared up, so some of the medicine must have gotten in. Luckily Lola loved the oral medicine - she got excited whenever she saw me get the bottle.
Eating
Lola is still a great eater. Probably too much so - I'm a little worried about how much she eats (and how big her belly is), but the doctor doesn't seem to think it is a problem. Lola has developed a habit of wanting to eat what's on other people's plates, and also wanting to sit in their laps while she eats their food. This is slightly annoying, but she's so cute and persistent that it's hard to say no. We will eventually have to work on this, as I don't want her to always beg for other people's food.
Teeth
Lola still has 12 teeth. I thought a few more might come in after the fever in December, but none did. The past few days she has seemed irritable and had really red cheeks, so I'm wondering if those are signs of new teeth on the way.
Sleeping
Lola is still on the same sleep schedule - asleep between 7 and 7:30 and up between 6:30 and 7. It works well for us. And "sleeping in" until 7 feels like heaven for us :) Her naps are still hit or miss. Sometimes she sleeps for 2 hours, and other times just for 45 minutes. She just takes one nap a day, after lunch around 12.
Talking
Lola is turning into quite the chatterbox. I don't understand much of what she says, since it's just gibberish, but it's really cute. Here are some more words she says:
- Dog (I missed this on the last list, but it was one of her first words)
- Shoe
- Cheese
- Hello
- Mine
- Wow
- Woah
Learning
Lola has learned a lot, and it really does amaze me. When I say something like, "Please put your clothes in the hamper", she will pick up her clothes and walk right over to the hamper. She understands so much! She also has great motor skills. She's always picking things up and putting them somewhere else, and she's just started playing with puzzles. She's great at walking and climbing stairs, although sometimes she tries to run too fast and falls down (which has resulted in her first skinned knees).
