This was our first weekend in a long time when we had absolutely no set plans, and I think we were all excited for the break. We went into the weekend hoping to be very productive while also having some family fun, and I think we succeeded.
Friday night Joseph and I watched House of Cards after Lola went to bed - it had been over a week since we had had time to watch TV. Almost done with season 3! Saturday morning I got up with Lola and let Joseph sleep in. We had breakfast and then went upstairs to start cleaning out the attic. I couldn't get too far without Joseph's muscle, though, as I'm not able to do much heavy lifting at this point in my pregnancy. So I just cleared out what I could and left him a pile of junk to carry downstairs. Joseph got up and started working on the pile, while Lola and I went to Target and Lowe's to get some supplies (mainly a new shelving unit). After lunch, Lola and I both napped. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon finishing up the attic - clearing out the junk and moving in the luggage and household items that we used to store in our front guest bedroom (soon to be Lola's room). While Joseph still has a pile of old wood on the porch to deal with (he wants to clean it up and store it for later use), I'd say the project is complete. Lola felt a little ignored at times, but luckily her room and playroom are upstairs, so she was able to play while we worked. I turned on a movie to try to keep her occupied, but she didn't stay interested for very long. We wrapped up the day with a nice dinner at El Mexicano.
Sunday morning Joseph got up with Lola and let me sleep in. I got almost 10 hours of sleep - it was amazing! I got up around 8:30 and had breakfast with them, delicious pancakes that Joseph made. Then I started going through all of Lola's old clothes - pulling out clothes that Baby Boy can wear and organizing the remaining clothes to give away. My best friend Paige is pregnant (SO exciting!), so if she is having a girl, I will give her everything. Otherwise I will try to sell or consign all the clothes. I'm just excited to get rid of it all. It would have been nice to have another girl who could wear the clothes, but they've been taking up an entire closet in Lola's room. While I worked on the clothes, Joseph did a deep clean of the kitchen and reorganized our countertop storage and utensil drawer. Not sure what motivated that, but I like it! I think it's because it was pouring outside and he couldn't do yard work.
We took a break from working to go on a long walk around the park. We stopped at the weekly farmers' market and had popsicles. Then we stopped by the swings on our way home. We had lunch and then Lola napped while I continued going through the clothes (so many clothes!!). Joseph took Lola on a bike ride after nap, which she really loved. When they got back, I made dinner (actually two dinners, so that I wouldn't have to cook on Monday) and we ate. After Lola was in bed, I finished up with the clothes. Or so I thought, since I discovered her 0-3 month clothes under her bed this morning...
