Potty Training Update

We started potty training on October 16, and after three weeks of zero diapers, we decided to give in and put pull-ups on Lola during naptime and bedtime.  We wanted to give her a chance to go without anything to see if she'd learn to wake up and go, but she wet the bed almost every night.  She did really well during naptime and only had a few accidents, but bedtime was a lot harder for her.  She just sleeps so soundly that she doesn't wake up when she goes.

Joseph had been in charge of getting up with her if she woke in the middle of the night - including changing the sheets, putting new clothes on Lola, etc.  After two weeks, I told him I was ready to change to pull-ups.  Even though I wasn't getting up, it still woke me up, and I felt like Lola probably wasn't getting very good sleep.  Joseph wanted to stick it out a while longer, but after the third week, he said he was ready too.  Lola was VERY excited about pull-ups, since some of her classmates wear them, but we tried to make it not a big deal and explained that pull-ups are just like underwear - you don't want to go in them, but they're there in case you do.   She has been pretty good about just wearing them while sleeping, but sometimes she will request a pull-up during the day (which we don't give her).

Other than sleeping-time accidents, Lola has had very few accidents.  She does great at both school and home, and with both #1 and #2.  I really am amazed at how well she has done.  She was definitely pretty easy on us.  Now the hard part will be weaning her of the candy she has become accustomed to as her reward for going on the potty :)
