Tuesday our HVAC person came and serviced all of our properties in preparation for winter - very exciting. But I'm glad we keep up with it, as I definitely don't want our heat to go out for what's supposed to be a cold winter. Joseph actually bought a few nice space heaters for around the house, since we were so cold last year.
Wednesday Lola got sent home sick from school. Her teacher, Caroline, texted and said that she was acting very fussy and just wanted to be held. I went to pick her up around 11:30, and she did look pretty pitiful. When we got home she just kept crying and crying, but I gave her some ibuprofen and that seemed to calm her down. I had picked us up Chick-Fil-A for lunch, so we ate that, and by the time we were done, she seemed much better. She took a nice, long nap, and then seemed back to normal. So who knows what was wrong. That evening one of the school founders & teachers, Mandy, came over to discuss some things for the upcoming fundraiser, and Lola was SO excited to have her at her house (as well as her friend Hank's dad Andy). It was really sweet to see her light up when she saw Mandy.
The weekend wasn't too exciting. We had planned to paint the nursery, so it worked out well that it rained all weekend since Joseph couldn't do his normal yard work outside. In the morning I hung all of the artwork in Lola's new room, and Joseph hung up the mirror above her dress. Then Lola and I went to Sherwin Williams to get the paint (a yellow named Honey Bees), and Joseph started priming in the afternoon.
We went to dinner at one of our local favorites, El Mexicano. We ran into my hairdresser Marie there with her husband and 18-month-old daughter Drew. We ended up sitting right next to them, and the girls kept waving and smiling at each other. It was really cute. And they both love cheese dip :)
Sunday Joseph finished up the painting (although he says he still has to do some touch-up work). I wasn't sure about the color after I saw it on the walls - I was worried it was too bright. But I never really like colors when I first see them up, so I'm sure I'll get used to it. Plus it will seem toned down a little once we put the furniture back against the wall and hang up some artwork.
Somehow I didn't take any photos this weekend. I'm not sure how that happened! I wish I had at least documented the painting process. I do have a few from during the week, though.
