Weekly Update - November 22

Our week started off with Lola sick.  She still had a fever Monday morning, so I took her to the doctor.  It turned out that she had a double ear infection, which I guess explains why she had been pulling at her ears and chewing on things.  She had never had an ear infection before, so we just assumed it was teething.  Poor girl.  Luckily she had seemed fine until Sunday night, so hopefully she wasn't in too much pain.  We got a prescription for 10 days of antibiotics, and Lola and I spent the day at home.  I unfortunately started getting flu-like symptoms in the afternoon and could pretty much do nothing - lot of aches, pains, and chills.  Lola and I just laid around until Joseph got home around 5.  He took Lola out to dinner at Doc Chey's and picked me up some takeout so that I could stay home and rest (and try to get some work done too since I had missed the day of work).  I still felt pretty awful at bedtime, so I went to bed around 9.

Lola seemed fine on Tuesday and no longer had a fever, so she went to school.  I was feeling better after a good night's sleep, but still slightly off.  I had my 34-week appointment with the midwives that day, and Janet said it was likely just pregnancy symptoms and nothing more.

Nothing much exciting happened the rest of the week.  We skipped the Nest Thanksgiving potluck dinner because I was just too tired, and we were sad to miss that.  Joseph started feeling a bit sick too, so we decided we should all take it easy and rest.

On Saturday, I went to water aerobics, my last class of the session.  I hope to fit in another class or two before the baby arrives, but it will be hard with the holidays and other conflicts.

Joseph's brother Tom arrived from Los Angeles Saturday afternoon.  We picked him up and headed to dinner at Six Feet Under.  Lola was very excited to see him!  He is visiting for Thanksgiving and staying until next Saturday.

Sunday we went grocery shopping in preparation for Thanksgiving - first a trip to Dekalb Farmer's Market and then a trip to Publix.  We got most of what we need for the week and Thanksgiving.

That evening, Tom babysat Lola while Joseph and I went to the Reicharts' annual Thanksgiving party.  It was fun as always!  We ate a lot of good food and caught up with friends.  It was nice to be able to chat without having to watch kids.
