The weekend of October 31 was Halloween (obviously). I started the weekend by going to my first water aerobics class of this pregnancy. Getting in the water helped a lot when I was pregnant with Lola - loosened some of my stiffness and was a gentle way to exercise - so I was excited to start again. And it did make me feel better. I'm going to try to go every Saturday until the baby comes.
After lunch and nap, Joseph and Lola did a quick last-minute carving of our pumpkin. We had intended to do it earlier but never got around to it. Lola seemed to enjoy it, and Joseph made a standard jack-o-lantern face.
We walked to Lola's friend Lila's house for some pre-trick-or-treating fun. They go to school together, and Lila's parents Heather & Jim invited us over, along with a few other people. They live a few blocks away from us. The kids had fun seeing each other outside of school. We chatted and snacked at their house, and then we headed out to do some trick-or-treating. Lola was a ladybug, and Lila was Curious George (although she was also wearing her Elsa dress at the house beforehand). Neither of the girls was overly excited, but they did enjoy going up to the house. We went to maybe 5 houses, and then we headed back to our street so that we could visit with neighbors before it got too late. We ended up staying out until about 9, and Lola was spent. But she was super excited about all the candy she got!
Sunday morning I woke up motivated and took Lola for an early morning Publix trip. We dropped off the groceries and headed right back out to get to Ikea when it opened at 10. I wanted to look for some things for Lola's room to finish it off. I found some curtains I liked that would match her comforter, so I bought those, along with a few other small things. The rest of the day was marginally productive - I was a bit tired after lunch so I took a nap while Lola napped, but we did manage to put together baby boy's bookshelf (which is the same as the one we put together last weekend for Lola's room). Joseph decided he had a craving for Longhorn Steakhouse (completely random - I can't even remember the last time I'd been to one), so we drove outside the city to the nearest one and had dinner.
