The first weekend of March was beautiful, so we decided to head to Sweetwater Creek State Park for a Sunday afternoon hike. We had been a few times before but not in a long time, so it was nice to return with Lola and bring Thomas for his first visit. I wore Thomas in the carrier and Lola alternated between walking and riding in the backpack carrier on Joseph. Lucy came with us too. We took the easy red trail, which is pretty flat and runs along a creek to the ruins of an old textile mill (which is in the Hunger Games movie!).
The visit was nice, although we did have a few mishaps. Lola hit her head on a tree branch while riding in the carrier, and it seemed to hurt her pretty badly. Luckily she shook it off after a few minutes and walked for a while instead. Thomas melted down once we got in the car to go home - he is not a fan of the car seat or car.
We were somewhat short on time since we wanted to get back in time for dinner, so we didn't spend too long there, but we hope to return again and have a more leisurely visit. It's nice to have such a pretty state park so close to the city.
