Lola - 11 Weeks

Lola is 11 weeks old today!  We are enjoying our last week at home together before I go back to work and trying not to get too sad.

Lola rolled over for the first time this week (just from tummy to back, not the other way yet) and has done it a few more times.  It was very exciting!  She is getting much stronger on her tummy and kicks her legs around a lot.  She also loves laying on her back on her activity mat and grabbing the hanging toys.  I think she's becoming more in control of her arm movements because it looks like she's trying to grab the toys on purpose.

She is a very smiley, happy girl.  She is most happy in the morning when she will just smile and smile and smile.  I love when I smile at her and she smiles back.  Although she is not perfect - she does cry, but she's usually easily consoled.  I feel very blessed to have an "easy" baby (of course I have no other children to compare her to).

After that brief stretch of sleeping through the night a few weeks ago (8-10 hours), Lola is waking once a night.  It's not too bad, but we'll see how I feel about that once I'm working again and have to get up early.  We usually put her to bed around 9 and she'll sleep until about 3.  I'll feed her and she'll go back to sleep for another 3-4 hours.

At the breastfeeding support group meeting last Thursday, Lola weighed 12 pounds 4 ounces.  She's getting chubby!  And I love it.  The meeting was the last one I'll be able to attend, and it was very helpful.  I got some good tips for pumping when I'm at work.

We attended our first babywearing meeting this Monday.  I have several baby carriers but hadn't felt super confident about any of them.  So I wanted to go to the meeting to see all the different types of carriers and make sure I'm using mine right.  I took my Pikkolo, and the leader said I was wearing it correctly, so that's good.  It's really comfortable and Lola seems to like it.  I also learned a new way of wearing the Baby K'Tan that feels a lot more stable.  I have an Ergo too, but Lola isn't big enough for that yet.  I wore Lola in the Pikkolo at Kroger and Target this week, and she was very good and slept most of the time.  I'm excited to have a good alternative to the stroller!
