Last Friday I flew to Pittsburgh to spend time with my family and attend the baby shower my mom and aunts had planned. My mom picked me up at the airport on Friday, and after a brief stop at home, we headed to the mall (of course). We had lunch, and then I made my mom pick out some birthday presents, as her birthday was this past Tuesday. It was hard to stop her from purchasing baby clothes and instead focus on herself! But I find it very sweet that she is already spoiling the baby :) We had a relaxing evening at home (including a short nap for me), and it was nice catching up with my mom and dad.
Saturday was my baby shower, but I'll write more about that in a separate post. I was pretty exhausted after the shower, so I took a nap (yes, I got in a lot of sleep with in Pittsburgh). My dad picked us up Sir Pizza (my favorite) for dinner and we had another nice evening in. I binged on HGTV and watched a lot of House Hunters, since we don't have cable at home.
Sunday was Mother's Day, so my parents and I went to brunch at the 17th Street Cafe in the South Side. It was delicious! They were giving bottles of their homemade balsamic vinaigrette to all the moms, and they even gave me one. My very first Mother's Day present :) I flew home Sunday night and was happy to see Joseph and Lucy.
It's been a busy week so far, which is always hard after being out of town over the weekend. Monday night I had water aerobics, and it's so much harder than you'd think. Or maybe it's just because I'm pregnant. Then Tuesday night I went to see a musical with my girlfriends. I hesitate to name it because it's slightly embarrassing, but it was called Spank! The Musical and was a parody of Fifty Shades of Grey. It was very entertaining, to say the least!
