Clothing Organizers

While I used to love crafts when I was younger and did all different kinds (cross stitch, basket weaving, oil painting, stained glass - I could go on and on), I haven't been too crafty since I went to college.  But I've decided to dive back in and try to make a few things for the baby's room.  I've also been motivated by a few friends - Jessica, who seems to do a different awesome project every day, and Kat, who made the crib skirt and curtains for her daughter's nursery.  I figured it would be fun (maybe even relaxing) to do, and it would give me a sense of pride to know I personally made something for the baby.

My first project was to make clothing organizers.  Jessica gave me the link to this tutorial, which detailed how to make them out of a few simple supplies.

Here are my supplies:

  • Mod Podge
  • Paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Wooden door hangers
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Scissors
  • X-Acto knife
  • Stickers

Supplies
I won't go into detail about what I did, as the tutorial explains it well, but I basically painted the backs of the wooden door hangers and then glued scrapbook paper on the front.  I'll use these to organize the baby's closet, keeping the clothes separated by age.  They didn't turn out perfectly (my trimming skills could use a little work), but they're good enough, especially since they'll be inside a closet.
