Pittsburgh Baby Shower

My mom and four aunts (my mom's sisters) threw me a fabulous baby shower in Pittsburgh last Saturday!  I had a wonderful time and felt very loved.

It was at Willow, a restaurant near my parents' house.  My mom decided to have it there so that she wouldn't be stressed out about cooking, and having seen her stressed out before, I'll say it was a great idea :)  The restaurant gave us a cozy back corner with a fireplace, dining tables, and a couch.  It was perfect.

The guests included family, my mom's friends, and my friends.  It was a good crowd - about 20 people.  And I hadn't seen anyone in so long, so it was great to catch up.

We played a few games and then had a nice lunch.  Then I opened the HUGE pile of presents.  I can't believe how many gifts Baby Breuer got!  She has quite the wardrobe already.

I got a lot of useful items that I registered for, as well as a few handmade items.  My Aunt Mary is a quilter and always makes quilts on special occasions (I received quilts for my graduation and wedding).  She made the baby a beautiful blue quilt with animals on it.  My cousin-in-law Gwen made TWO beautiful afghans, which my Grandma Yahn used to make.  She made one in grey using my grandma's pattern, and one in multiple colors that matches my crib skirt fabric almost exactly.  I don't know how she did it!  I absolutely love all three blankets, and it will be so special for Baby Breuer to have handmade items from family.

It was such a nice day and made me so happy - and even more excited to meet my daughter.  Thanks Mom, Anne, Barb, Maggie, and Mary!
