We spent Memorial Day weekend in town, which is unusual for us. Usually we go out of town, either on vacation or to visit family. But it was nice to stay in town, relax, and get some things done around the house to prepare for the baby.
Here is what we accomplished:
- Had the upstairs painted (technically this happened last week while I was away at my conference)
- Had the upstairs carpets cleaned
- Washed all of baby girl's clothes and bedding
- Hung all of baby girl's clothes in the closet, using the organizers I made
- Finalized our nanny interview list
- Rebuilt the deck at our rental house (this was all Joseph and was an unplanned repair, but he managed to get it all done!)
- Plus a bunch more little chores and errands
We did have some fun too. We attended the wedding of Chris, one of Joseph's fraternity brothers, and Jessica on Saturday night. The ceremony was at Grace Methodist Church on Ponce, and the reception was at Paris on Ponce. It is an antique/furniture/eclectic store, and I had no idea they had an event space in the back. But it was really cool! It had a Moulin Rouge feel to it. I left after the cake was served (obviously I had to stay for that), but Joseph stayed until the end and then went out with his friends until 3am. Definitely a late night, but it was nice for him to catch up with old friends.
We also took Lucy on a few long walks, and I took a few naps. Overall, it was a great weekend!

| Newly painted bathroom - a slightly brighter green, and no more gold ceiling! |
 |
| Newly painted den - it used to have a yellow wall along the stairs and the rest was an ugly beige |
 |
| Newly painted den - now it's a soft grey |
 |
| Newly painted guest room - a slightly lighter blue than before |
 |
| Newly painted nursery - from ugly brown to PINK! I never thought I'd paint a room pink :) |
I love the pink room! That makes it so real. Hooray for baby girls!
